Jamie Stangroom - presenter and celebrity botherer

Hello, I’m a music journalist, radio presenter, sketch-writer and professional celebrity-botherer, using my skills of hassling famous people to good effect for StarWars.com as their foreign correspondent and was personally chosen by Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg as the only non-US reporter on their new AMC series Geeking Out!.

I began annoying famous people on BBC 5 Live's Up All Night Show. If you were an insomniac or a milkman you may have heard me producing and presenting the 'new music' slot. I conducted over 200 interviews, including first ever radio interviews with The XX, Speech Debelle and Ellie Goulding. I went on to front several shows of my own on BBC 5 Live, including The Sound of 2011, The Sound of 2010 and Music & Football Don't Mix in which I had to form a super group of footballers to record a song good enough that it would be played on Radio 1 - and I succeeded! Most recently I was charged by Sean Keaveny on 6Music to form a band made up of celebrities for the BBC’s Get Playing campaign.

But my exploits haven’t just been confined to radio. On TV I have worked on the BBC News Channel with a string of music interviews for their entertainment show ‘E24’ and presented features for Late Kick Off on BBC 1.

I’ve also been busy online. I produced and presented a series of films for BBC Online called The Rock Games. Released during the London Olympics, I challenged various stars from the world of rock and pop to Olympic-themed games. The series was still in the top 10 5 Live videos long after the exploits of Mo Farah and Jess Ennis were but a distant memory. My online series Whenever... with Jamie Stangroom launched on Comedy Central in July 2014.
